Yakushima is located in the south of Kagoshima and it is also a part of the island group of Kagoshima Prefecture. The island is rich in vegetation with thousands of trees. The natural scenery is very good and is Japan's first listed island in the world natural heritage. It is not the island to see the sea. Hirakawa Zoological Park Hirakawa Animal Park was established within October 14, 1972 with a total area of 314, 000 square meters. It is a natural animal park surrounded by trees. There are about 140 kinds of animals.
